Who can get a kidney transplant in India?
India has strict, patient-protecting transplant laws. Knowing the rules first saves you months of delay — and protects you from illegal agents.
You are eligible if:
- You have a living donor from your own family — parent, sibling, child, spouse, or grandparent (a “near relative” under Indian law).
- Your donor is healthy and willing — we confirm blood group and fitness from your reports before you travel.
- You can obtain documents from Myanmar — identity papers, family-relationship proof, and a certificate from the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi. Our team guides you through every form.
Please note: Buying or selling a kidney is illegal in India. Deceased-donor (waiting list) kidneys are not available to foreign nationals. Every transplant we perform is approved by the hospital’s government Authorization Committee. If anyone promises you a “paid donor,” they are breaking the law and putting your life at risk.

Common questions
Questions Myanmar families ask us
Can I get a kidney in India without a family donor?
No. Indian law requires foreign patients to bring a living donor who is a near relative (parent, sibling, child, spouse, or grandparent). There is no legal waiting list for foreign nationals, and paid donation is a criminal offence. We will help you assess which family member can safely donate.
How long do we need to stay in India?
Plan for about 6–8 weeks in total: 2–3 weeks for evaluation and legal approval, surgery, then 3–4 weeks of close follow-up before flying home.
Our blood groups don't match. Is transplant still possible?
Often yes. ABO-incompatible transplant is possible in selected cases with additional preparation and cost. Send both blood groups on WhatsApp and we will advise honestly whether it is suitable for you.
What documents do we need from Myanmar?
Passports and medical visas for patient, donor, and attendant; national ID/household documents proving the family relationship; and a relationship certificate attested by the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi. We provide the full checklist and sample formats on WhatsApp.
Is dialysis available while we wait for approval?
Yes. You continue dialysis at our centre in Gurugram on your usual schedule until the day of transplant.
How do we pay, and can we pay in stages?
You receive a written estimate before travel. Payment is made directly to the hospital in USD or INR, in stages (evaluation, then surgery). We do not use agents and there are no commissions added to your bill.
